How Saheli Plus works as a contraceptive?
The contraceptive 'SAHELI ' blocks estrogen receptors in the uterus preventing the ovum from getting implanted. With its unique SERM properties, centchroman is equipped to inhibit implantation without disturbing the hormonal balance.
Localised action in the uterus
The contraceptive action of Saheli Plus is induced by the prevention of implantation of the embryo in the uterine wall through its localised action in the endometrium. This is due to the anti-Oestrogenic property of the Centchroman drug.
Creates unfavorable conditions for implantation
Saheli Plus Inhibits the effect of estrogen on the endometrium and causes a thinner endometrium which is not suitable for implantation of the embryo. This creates an unfavorable environment in the uterus for implantation and hence prevents pregnancy.
Inhibits the fertilized ovum from nidation
Saheli Plus accelerates the transport of the fertilized ovum through the fallopian tube which causes an immature embryo to arrive at the endometrium.
